Home Up Las Hadas Santiago Land Trip to Colima

As we walked from the Las Hadas Hotel, on the peninsula that separates Manzanillo Bay from Santiago Bay, we went by the Hotel Sierra, one of the plushest hotels in the area, overlooking Bahía de Santiago.

We could not help but stop there a couple of times. Very nice...

As we walked on our daily hike to the town of Santiago, we stumbled into a dive shop, and met Susan Dearing, a local dive instructor and local enterpreneur. We talked about the area attractions, and she introduced us to her web site and guide book, which we purchased. The name of the guide book is "Manzanillo and the state of Colima", 177 pages of information and color illustrations, which we found very useful. You can find a lot of this information at www.gomanzanillo.com, or you can write Susan, the author, at susan@gomanzanillo.com to order your copy for $29.95 US.

Susan pointed out a wreck of a 300' freighter, sunk in 20 feet of water in Santiago Bay, which makes a great snorkeling and SCUBA diving site. We made sure to anchor off it, and dive it, before we left the Manzanillo area.
