During the Fourth of July weekend this year in San Francisco Bay, there was a magnificent parade of tall ships, many from distant lands. Daisy and I were lucky to get there just in time to take some really good shots using my brand new Nikon CoolPix 950 digital camera. These pictures were taken in 1024 x 768 resolution (the camera captures up to 1600 x 1200 pixels), and have been heavily compressed for ease of loading on the internet. Below is the Ecuatorian vessel GUAYAS. We met some of their crew later that weekend, when we acted as interpreters in Spanish, during their visit to the Sausalito Yacht Club. Below the main pic of the GUAYAS are some images I took while on board GUAYAS at Miami two years later, during a tall ship visit to the Florida port.
Below is a picture of three of the crewmen of the GUAYAS, aboard SIESTA, anchored off the Sausalito Yacht Club, during the Fourth of July celebration.
And, coming in under full sail below is the Japanese tall ship (name unknown to me). This ship was quite a sight to see, with full canvas in very tight quarters.
The owner of the vessel below would love to have the picture below, don't you think? Red sails in the sunset......
The US Coast Guard vessel "Eagle", below, is a very large tall ship, as you can see.
