Both good choices but very different, as the Westsail 32 is a much bigger heavier boat with much larger storage capacity. I would probably feel more comfortable offshore in the westsail, but the most important thing is which you feel moree comfortable on.

With your emphasis on passagemaking and cruising offshore I would again recomend a look at the CSY 33 produced from 1979 to 1982. This boat had a pilot house and inside steering was an optional extra. LOA 33'4", LWL25', Beam 10'6",Draft 4'11", Diaplacement 13,500 lbs, Ballast 5,000 lbs. Rated sail area 480 sq ft. Furl 60 Gal. Water 130 Gal. Designer P.Schmitt This vessel is in between the two you are looking at in size. Description from Mauch Follows. The CSY 33 Cutter came on the market designed to be a liveaboard with extra tankage and high freeboard, a galley the same size as the one in the 44 Pilot house Ketch and numerous other items that make it comfortable for cruising. Came standard with 6 lewmar winches , keel stepped mast Westerbeke engine teak trim and many other standard items. The CSY's have been used extensibely on the charter market and seem to have held up well. For Comparison Mauch shows the westsail 32 carying 40 gallons of fuel and 60 gallons of water and the bristol 32 carying 30 gallons of fuel and 75 of water.
